Let's take back power
of the menstrual cycle!
Periods, a subject that attracts all kinds of myths and misconceptions.
Have you ever thought or heard that period blood is dirty and smells bad? Or that you should never swim or have sex during your period? You're not alone!
Unfortunately, we have all been exposed to these kinds of ideas that are devoid of any scientific validity. Even though it is 2020, the subject of periods is still surrounded by all kinds of opinions, myths and negative perceptions, and causes, in many people, feelings of shame and isolation.
It is high time to break these taboos and educate both young boys and girls about what happens in our bodies during menstruation, to clarify all misperceptions and to better understand how the menstrual cycle works and all the physiological phenomena that arise from it.
Regular periods are, above all, a sign of good health.
Many people experience their periods as a fatality or worse, as the price to pay for being a woman! It is high time to question our vision of menstruation and especially the way we experience them. It is above all a sign of good health and proof that our body is functioning normally.
Regular periods also allow us to keep an eye on the health of our bones, to detect fairly quickly and therefore react just as quickly to any hormonal imbalances or metabolic or thyroid problems that may arise in our lives. Contrary to what many dictates have wanted us to believe, nature has done things rather well for us!
